The Class Notebook section in Teams is a great location for collaboration, feedback and personalisation of learning. Each Class Notebook contains three main areas:                                       Retrieved 20 Feb from:Linkedin https://www.slideshare.net/Schoolnetsa11/ollaboration-with-onenote-class-notebook The Content Library is for "read only" information for your class. The Collaboration Space is a shared space for all students to work and the Individual Student Notebooks section is where all students have  their own notebook to complete their work. Students can add images, voice recordings, tables and text to their notebooks and teachers can view and edit their students notebook at any time.  To get started with Class Notebook, enable the Teacher Only Section . Take a look at the tips below and feel free to add your own ideas in the comment section below. Ten tips for teaching BYOD classes! Give students five minutes at the start of the lesson to get themselves and their laptops organised. You could take the roll at this time. Microsoft Teams can be accessed by students and staff via Hagley College's Student Portal. Go to www.hagley.school.nz  and select student Portal. Teams can be accessed by selecting the Teams tile: This link takes the student to the online version of Teams. There will be lots of Teams already set up for you and your classes. You may need to scroll down to find your class.  Students can bookmark or favourite this website so they can easily access the Team later, or they may like to download the App version.

What is Teams?

Image
Microsoft Teams is a digital platform already set up for your class. By default, all Teams are set up with a space for conversations, a storage area for files, a OneNote Class Notebook and an area for assignments and quizzes. These areas help to create an online space which can eliminate the need for teachers to use multiple tools to communicate and work (such as email, google drive, social media etc) with students. Perhaps the greatest benefit of Teams is that it enables the teacher to see students work and progress in real time. Teams are customisable, so teachers can add tabs for Excel, PowerPoint YouTube or many more applications. All Teams are set up by ICT and are ready to access by your students. See this blog post on how to access your Team for details.
